Short documentaries launched at SNVICON 2019 to spread awareness on Stroke
The Organising Secretary of SNVICON 2019 – Dr. Nitin Dange, launches four documentary videos at the Fourth Annual Congress of Society of Neuro-Vascular Intervention that was held in Mumbai between June 14 & 16. The documentaries aim at spreading awareness on stroke and importance of getting on-time medical attention.
While the first three documentaries are 5 minutes long each and focuses on symptoms of stroke and importance of timely medical intervention, the fourth documentary is 21 minutes long and features stroke survivors and their stories.
Dr. Dange, said, "Stroke has become a leading cause of disability and mortality in India. These documentaries will be one of our tools to reach out to the common man and make them aware of symptoms related to stroke so that more patients get medical attention on time."
The three-day conference, which is being held in Grand Hyatt - Santacruz, discussed acute stroke management and new techniques and technologies.
The lifetime risk of 'Stroke' after the age of 55 is growing by the day. The SNVI committee members, however, emphasized that stroke is treatable if the patients reach on time.
"I am thankful to the stroke survivors to agree to be part of our efforts to spread awareness on stroke in the community," said Dr. Dange.

The stroke survivors were also felicitated by Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt.
